A strikingly realized poetic tale, based on an old folk ballad of a maiden who sets out to search for her lost fiancé in the turmoils of war. The beloved is found in a hospital where the Grim Reaper is preparing for his gloomy task. The puppet animation was inspired by the poem Legend of a dead Soldier by Bertolt Brecht. The film could also be seen as an artist's statement of the war raging in Balkan, the heart of Europe. Prize-winner of Nordisk Panorama 1995, Tampere 1996, State Film Award 1996.
